I am a Learning and Development Officer specialising in Children's Social Care, I have worked for WSCC for 28 years. My background is in West End theatre, teaching and residential child care.

I qualified as a Social Worker 24 years ago and have been a Learning & Development Officer for 18 years. During that time I have been a Diploma and a PQ assessor. I deliver a range of training events to Children's Social Care practitioners, including Newly Qualified Social Workers, Residential Staff and Foster Carers and Early Help training to the wider children's workforce.

I am involved in developing and delivering training on the NQSW Pathway. I have been working on converting training to online alternative delivery during the recent Pandemic.

Rahul Chacko
Rahul ChackoI completed a Master of Social Work (MSW) qualification in the USA in 2010 and began my first frontline role with West Sussex County Council that year. Since then I have worked in frontline roles in West Sussex and Cheshire East, and as a Senior Social Work Practitioner at the MASH. During this time I have also completed the Practice Educator certification.

Since 2017 I have been with the Learning and Development team. I specialise in developing and delivering Social Work and Safeguarding related courses, with delegate groups including Social Workers, Early Help workers, partner agencies, foster carers, residential staff, and those working in relevant roles. I have also been involved in developing and delivering the NQSW Pathway and Safeguarding training sessions externally. As a result of Covid-19, all courses needed to be adapted to an online format and I was part of an interdisciplinary Learning and Development/Organisational Development group to rapidly commence this process, which is continuing to be carried out.
