West Sussex Children’s Services have been implementing the Signs of Safety model of social work practice since 2013. We see Signs of Safety as being the way we will work with children and families in need of support or protection across the whole of children and young people’s services.

If you are a professional working with children, and would like to know what Signs of Safety training you should be accessing, you can click onto the Continuum of Need table below and this will inform you which is the right training course or pathway for you, depending on which children you work with and at what level.
More information can be found on the Continuum of Need document.

Signs of Safety Practice Leads Session - Building a Safety Network
This half-day workshop is for Signs of Safety Practice Leads working within Children’s Services. It will focus on the subject area of Building a Network. Every traditional culture knows the wisdom of the African saying ‘It takes a village to raise a child’. A child who is connected to many people who care for them will almost always have a better life experience and be safer than an isolated child. So, safety planning work always involves requiring that the parents get as many people as they can be involved in helping them create a safety plan. One of the most important aspects ...
