The contents of the Introduction to Care pathway is listed below. Please follow the links to start each activity.

Please watch these video's using your own device where possible eg home PC, tablet or mobile phone.  You can access the L&D Gateway via www.westsussexcpd.co.uk from your home device. Alternatively please watch outside of the peak working times of 8am to 6pm.  This will help to reduce demand on the WSCC network.   
 
Activity Delivery Description
Stop Look Care Booklet, videos and website links  The Stop Look Care booklet has been designed to support Care Workers / Carers who working across Health and Social Care. It will support Care Workers / Carers to feel confident that they have reached the right level to provide the care they are giving.
Infection Prevention and Control E-Learning (25 Minutes) This course covers basic knowledge of common infections, the risk of infection to vulnerable people in our community, staff responsibilities to prevent the spread of infection and good practice for hand washing procedures.
Personal Protective Equipment E-Learning (5 Minutes) This video covers the basic skills in donning (putting on) and doffing (taking off) Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which will reduce the risk of contracting infectious diseases including COVID-19.

COVID-19 Essentials E-Learning (30 Minutes)  This course covers what are Coronavirus and COVID-19, the signs and symptoms and how it is spread, how to protect yourself and others and other general advice for safety. 
Manual Handling E-Learning (20 Minutes) This covers the essentials of manual handling in the workplace. You will also work through a manual handling process to help you understand a method in which you manually handle a load based on a few key points.
Moving & Handling of People COVID-19 Legislation E-Learning (20 Minutes) This module will provide you with information on practical moving and handling techniques when working with customers.
Bladder and Bowel - Promoting Continence E-Learning (30 Minutes) This module will show you how to provide good, safe, person centred continence care to people living in a range of settings.  It will explore proactive ways to support people with continence care needs including those that may have a catheter. It also promotes good hydration, good diet, and the importance of recording of information.
Safeguarding Adults – Basic Awareness E-Learning (30 Minutes) This module is for all staff. It looks at what to do if you or someone you know is experiencing or at risk of being neglected or abused.
Medication - Level 1 E-Learning (25 Minutes) This module covers the roles and responsibilities required to provide Level 1 general support medication tasks.
Supporting Someone with their Personal CareE-Learning (35 Minutes) This module will provide you with information and video guides on how to carry out personal care, in order to make it a positive experience, promoting dignity and privacy.
