This pathway is for all childcare staff working in residential care who are not Social Work qualified. The pathway will guide you through the Learning and Development opportunities available to you in your first two years in post.

Fire Safety - An Introduction (WSCC and PVI Care Establishments)  
This interactive, half-day workshop is for all Care Establishment staff and will provide you with an understanding of fire, how it starts and spreads, and the most effective ways of extinguishing different types of fire. Safer Recruitment  
This one day course is for managers in IPEH or Children's Social and Residential Care who are responsible for recruiting staff who work with children and young people, or who are involved in providing services for them. It seeks to assist you in raising your awareness and improving your practice throughout the interview and recruitment selection process of new staff in order that you maximise the opportunity for hiring suitable candidates within the wider context of safeguarding.
