The Being a Manager and Leader at West Sussex County Council Framework sets out what is expected of managers and leaders in their role for example, in how they lead and manage their teams; undertake effective business planning; monitor performance as well as seek to continually improve services. It outlines the essential knowledge required by managers and leaders to be effective in their role as well providing a framework for how managers and leaders demonstrate the values of the organisation.

The aim of the Being and Manager and Leader Framework is to set out a clear definition of what is expected of our people managers and what they will be held accountable against in a clear and concise manner. Quite simply it explains what our managers and leaders need to:

The framework will be used as part of the toolkit for assessing our people manager’s performance within the appraisal process and will also be included in the new manager’s induction pathway..
