West Sussex Children’s Services have been implementing the Signs of Safety model of social work practice since 2013. We see Signs of Safety as being the way we will work with children and families in need of support or protection across the whole of children and young people’s services.

If you are a professional working with children, and would like to know what Signs of Safety training you should be accessing, you can click onto the Continuum of Need table below and this will inform you which is the right training course or pathway for you, depending on which children you work with and at what level.
More information can be found on the Continuum of Need document.

In addition, the children’s social care practice improvement team can provide bespoke training to services if this is appropriate. If you would like to enquire about this, or you are not sure which training you should be accessing, please contact Louise.Fox@westsussex.gov.uk.

However, you may wish to attend to refresh your learning and think about the application of this framework to Level 3 and Early Help. The heart of the Signs of Safety process is an assessment and case planning format that is meaningful for profess ...
