The training/accreditation pathway for both new and existing carers has been developed to provide structured training and a career pathway for all carers who are approved Foster Carers for West Sussex County Council.
 
The training offered in these pathways is also available to Adopters, Supported Lodgings Providers and Family and Friends Carers.

There are three levels, you can see the training at each level in the documents below, you can also find more information in the documents below or on the West Sussex County Council Website.

First Aid Training for Foster Carers (EVENT FULL)  
This full day course is for foster carers and provides the knowledge and skills required to perform First Aid. There is a combination of theory and practical exercises that will enable you to treat children and young people who have suffered accidents and received injuries as a result. This event is strictly for pre-booked, confirmed delegates only. You will not be permitted to attend if you do not have a confirmed booking.

The Secrets of Self Harm (EVENT FULL)  
This one day workshop is for relevant staff to develop their understanding of issues related to Self Harm. Some people use self harming behaviour as a coping strategy when life gets unbearable.
