Health and Wellbeing in Dementia Care

Event Description This module is for all staff working with people with dementia, it will will explore how to ensure health and wellbeing for people with dementia.

It will also look at ways to promote health and wellbeing and ways to notice changes that might signify a decline in someone's health.
Training Objectives The aim of this module is to explore how to ensure optimal physical health and emotional wellbeing for people living with dementia.
Learning Outcomes If you apply what you have learnt in this module you will be able to:

  • Identify how to support people living with dementia to maintain optimal physical health, personal hygiene, and appearance
  • Identify how to improve nutrition and hydration and the mealtime experience
  • Discuss how you might prevent and ensure early detection of, pain, falls, fatigue, dehydration, and hunger
