Health and Safety Induction

Event Description This online learning module is for West Sussex County Council (WSCC) staff and will introduce you to the arrangements in place to manage health and safety, so you have a clear understanding of your responsibilities along with those of WSCC.

You will identify workplace hazards and learn what to do if you come across one, as well as how to manage risks and keep yourself safe.

Completion of this module is a mandatory induction requirement for WSCC staff. If you work in a WSCC school please see the Schools Health & Safety Induction training.
Training Objectives The aim of this module is to ensure you receive adequate information, instruction, training and supervision to enable you to work with minimum risk to your own and others health and safety. 
Learning Outcomes If you apply what you have learnt on this course you will be able to:

  • Explain your own and WSCC’s responsibilities for health and safety.
  • Identify various hazards within the workplace and explain what to do if you find one.
  • Outline what to do if you have an accident whilst at work.
  • Identify where to find help for your physical and mental health, and wellbeing.
