Health and Safety for Directors

Event Description This 10 minute online learning module is for Organisation Directors and Senior Managers. It will help you gain an awareness of your responsibilities regarding health and safety, in light of the changes in sentencing guidelines of the Corporate Manslaughter Act 2007, and how a failure to meet these responsibilities could now result in imprisonment.
Training Objectives The aim of this online learning module is to provide a brief overview of the key points to Health and Safety for directors and senior managers including the Corporate Manslaughter Act, fines and prosecution, and directors responsibilities, as well as providing the 'Plan-Do-Check-Act' framework that you can use as a management method in business for the control and continual improvement of successful health and safety management. 
Learning Outcomes If you apply what you have learnt in this module, you will be able to;

  • Recognise the costs of poor health and safety at work.
  • Have an awareness of the Corporate Manslaughter Act.
  • Be aware that failure to comply with health and safety can result in fines and imprisonment.
  • Recognise the different responsibilities for directors.
  • Use the 'Plan-Do-Check-Act' Framework to identify key actions that you should be taking in relation to leadership, management, worker involvement and competence.
