COSHH in the Home Environment

Event Description This module is mandatory for Shared Lives Carers providing a service in, or based from, their own home. It should be refreshed three yearly. It may also be relevant to domiciliary care workers, personal assistants and anyone caring for an individual in their own home. It will introduce you to the control of substances hazardous to health (COSHH) in your home or an individual’s own home.
Training Objectives The aim of this module is to help you keep everyone safe and supported effectively in using, storing and disposing of any hazardous substances. 
Learning Outcomes If you apply what you have learnt in this module, you will be able to:

  • Recognise standard warning symbols for substances which could be hazardous to health.
  • Demonstrate an awareness of substances in your homes which could be hazardous to health.
  • Safely use, store and dispose of any substances in your home which could be hazardous to health.
