General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)

Event Description This 20 minute online learning module is for anyone wishing to raise their awareness of the new General Data Protection Regulations that came into effect on the 25th of May 2018, which replaced the previous Data Protection Act. You will explore the ways in which the GDPR provides individuals with more control over their personal data, including what’s held, how it’s used and when it’s deleted. It will seek to support you in identifying how GDPR affects your organisation and the procedures you will need to follow to ensure compliance.

Please Note: If you are a WSCC member of staff, you should complete the Data Protection module.
Training Objectives The aim of this module is to support you in raising your awareness of the new General Data Protection Regulations and the requirements that it sets out by law.

You will examine the data protection principles in relation to personal data and the rights of individuals under this new legislation.
