Electricity - Care Provider Module

Event Description This 15 minute online learning course is for all care provider staff.

It seeks to introduce you to electricity and the laws, duties and practices that both you as an employee, and your employer, are subject to in order to reduce the risk of an electrical hazard causing harm.

Training Objectives The aim of this course is to support you in raising your awareness of electricity, its uses, and the dangers that it poses. It will also introduce you to the laws governing its safe use and the duties and practices that employees, and employers, should adhere to in order to reduce the risk of electrical hazards causing harm. 
Learning Outcomes If you apply what you have learnt in this online module you will be able to;

  • Identify what electricity is.
  • Have an awareness of the ways in which electricity poses a threat in the workplace.
  • Take practical steps to reduce the risk of electrical hazards actually causing harm.
  • Have an awareness of the laws in place to protect you at work.
  • Have a clear understanding of the duties that should be undertaken to ensure that everyone is safe from the dangers of electricity, from both yourself as an employee and your employer.
