Asbestos Awareness

Event Description This course is for West Sussex County Council staff who are at any risk of coming into contact with asbestos as part of their role and covers the harmful effects of asbestos, where it may be found and procedures to follow if you are exposed to asbestos
Training Objectives The aim of this course is to make staff aware of the health hazards related to asbestos, the many risks associated with it and how these risks may be controlled. 
Learning Outcomes If you apply what you have learnt on this course you will be able to:

  • Define types of asbestos and describe their background
  • Identify places where asbestos may be found and describe control measures to use when working with asbestos containing materials (ACMs)
  • Identify best practices and emergency procedures to follow when exposed to asbestos
  •
