Finding out about The SEND Code of Practice

Event Description Welcome to this online learning module about Special Education Needs and Disability (SEND) Code of Practice. This module will give you information about the SEND Code of Practice and includes links to a number of useful sites for information.
Training Objectives The aim of this course is to make you aware of changes in regulation relating to Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) for children. 
Learning Outcomes If you apply what you have learnt on this course you will be able to:

  • Identify what age range of people the SEND Code Of Practice applies to
  • Have an understanding of why a different SEND Code of Practice was needed
  • Detail what the West Sussex Context and Local Offer is
  • See the relevance of the Equality Act in relation to SEND
  • Look at the roles and responsibilities in education settings
  • Have an understanding of the graduated approach
  • Look at how to apply for an Education, Health and Care Plan
  • Know how to make a complaint and how disagreements are resolved
