Safeguarding and Child Protection for the Designated Person in Early Years Settings Webinar

Event Description This half day, online course is for designated safeguarding or child protection coordinators, managers and established child-minders.
It seeks to support you in fulfilling your leadership role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in your care.

The course has two parts. Part one is a self-led, online learning pack which will be attached to the course place confirmation email. If it is not, it will be emailed to you prior to the course. It will take about one hour, and MUST be completed any time before the webinar. Part two is the online webinar.
During the webinar you will be part of a group with direct access to a trainer who will be 'teaching' during the session. You must have access to a computer or tablet, the internet, a web camera with microphone and have set up a (free) Zoom account to be able to participate. Mobile phones are acceptable, but not recommended due to the small screen.

Training objectives The aim of this webinar is to support you in revisiting the signs and indicators of abuse and neglect and, having identified these signals, how to respond.

It will assist you to explore social care thresholds in relation to the various levels of intervention.

You will also be encouraged to consider what action can be taken within the setting and the support and guidance available.
