Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in Dementia Care

Event Description This module is for all staff working with people with dementia, it will investigate how factors such as stigma, age, gender, and ethnicity affect the experience of living with or caring for people with dementia.

It will offer guidance on how to adapt your practice to address discrimination and tailor care and services to meet the diverse needs of people affected by dementia.
Training Objectives The aim of this module is to explore Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in Dementia Care. 
Learning Outcomes If you apply what you have learnt in this module you will be able to:

  • Recognise the importance of diversity in shaping who we are and how we perceive others
  • Recognise what stigma is and how it can affect the support and services people receive
  • Identify how factors such as age, gender, culture and ethnicity, sexual orientation and disabilities can affect the experience of living with or supporting someone with dementia
