Families and Carers as Partners in Dementia Care

Event Description This module is for all staff working with people with dementia, it will explore the roles, needs, rights and experiences of family members caring for a relative living with dementia. It will describe ways to support and work in partnership with family carers.
Training Objectives The aim of this module is to introduce you to ways of supporting families who care for someone with dementia.
 
Learning Outcomes If you apply what you have learnt in this module you will be able to:

  • Recognise the varied roles, needs, rights and experiences of families who are supporting a person living with dementia
  • Recognise the complexity and cultural diversity of families and how they may impact the caring experience
  • Identify ways to develop partnerships with family carers
