Asbestos Awareness

Event Description This online learning module is for Premises staff and other staff who work in a WSCC building, built before the year 2000, and whose work could expose them to asbestos.

It will introduce you to the different types of asbestos, where they are found and the health risks they pose.
Training Objectives The aim of this module is to raise your awareness of the dangers of asbestos, where it can be found and what to do in an emergency. 
Learning Outcomes If you apply what you have learnt in this online module, you will be able to;

  • Describe asbestos and its effects on health.
  • Identify some types and uses of asbestos and where you might find it.
  • Outline what you should do in an emergency in line with WSCC procedures.
