Moving and Handling of People - Adults

Event Description This online learning module is for staff at West Sussex County Council who are assisting and supporting in delivering care services during the Covid19 pandemic, as well as staff who may have already attended a practical training course in the Moving and Handling of People. The module will provide you with information on practical moving and handling techniques when working with customers.
Training Objectives The aim of this online learning module is to support you in having an awareness of both practice and law when moving and handling customers. 
Learning Outcomes If you apply what you have learnt in this module you will be able to;

  • Identify and put into practice current legislation and risk assessments relating to moving and handling customers.
  • Recognise the importance of promoting mobility and independence with a customer and how to maximise their ability to move.
  • Identify correct methods for moving and handling customers.
  • Recognise controversial techniques/manoeuvres that are considered unsafe when assisting customers.
  • Implement methods to reduce back and musculoskeletal injury.
