Sleep Well - Common Sleep Problems

Event Description This online learning module is aimed at anyone who is working directly with parents, families or children and is also appropriate for parents and carers. It will focus specifically on sleep problems that commonly occur in young people from birth through to adolescence.
Training Objectives The aim of this module is to tie together what you have learnt in the first three modules in the Sleep Well series, outline some of the most common sleep disturbances and look at possible techniques that can be used to manage or minimise sleep problems. 
Learning Outcomes If you apply what you have learnt in this module, you will be able to:

  • Have an awareness of the prevalence of sleep problems in children.
  • Identify common causes of poor sleep in children.
  • Recognise common sleep problems in children.
  • Identify when a sleep problem can be managed safely and when professional support is needed.
    Course Pre-Requisites It would be beneficial to have completed the Sleep Well - Introduction module, Sleep Well - Getting the Best Night’s Sleep module, and Sleep Well – Children with Additional Needs module, prior to completing this online learning course.
