Sleep Well - An Introduction

Event Description This online learning module is aimed at anyone who is working directly with parents, families or children and is also appropriate for parents and carers.

It will provide you with a basic awareness of sleep, including the importance of sleep, the science behind it and ways which sleep can be improved.
Training Objectives The aim of this module is to provide you with a basic awareness of sleep and raise awareness of the ways sleep, or lack of it, can impact a child and their family.

It aims to improve knowledge and understanding, however, does not result in a formal qualification. 
Learning Outcomes If you apply what you have learnt in this module, you will be able to:

  • Explain the reasons why we sleep and why it is important.
  • Determine the effects of poor sleep.
  • Describe basic science behind sleep.
  • Identify ways sleep could be improved and describe safer sleep practices.
