Equality and Diversity Introduction

Event Description This 15 minute online learning module is to support you in raising your awareness of what is meant by equality and diversity and consider how you are protected in your workplace from discrimination.
Training Objectives The aim of this module is to support you in considering the Equality Law 2010, which protects all, regardless of characteristics, at work.

In order to understand the protection in place, you will explore the four main types of discrimination which are experienced in the workplace.

You will be encouraged to consider the different protected characteristics specified under the Equality Act, which include: age, race, religion or belief, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, marriage and civil partnerships and finally, pregnancy and maternity.
 
Learning Outcomes If you apply what you have learnt in this online module you will be able to;

  • How you are protected in your workplace from discrimination.
  • Equality Law 2010.
  • Main types of discrimination which are experienced in the workplace.
