Health and Safety for Managers

Event Description If you manage at least one person then this e-learning course is for you. It will give you a basic understanding of your Health and Safety responsibilities as a Manager of people and it serves as an introduction to your Health and Safety training as a Manager
Training Objectives The aim of this course is to clarify your role and responsibilities in relation to Health and Safety Management 
Learning Outcomes If you apply what you have learnt on this course you will be able to:

  • Recognise the moral, legal and economic reasons for good Health and Safety Management
  • Identify the main types and causes of accidents in the workplace
  • Recognise your responsibility as a manager to reduce risks in the workplace to an acceptable level in a sensible and practical way
    Course Pre-Requisites This e-learning is only open to West Sussex County Council Staff. Before taking the e-learning course you should read the Health and Safety information for Managers in the Managers toolkit

    Please note - School staff do not have to read the Managers Toolkit and should click on the box 'take this course'. School staff should attend a Managing Health and Safety in Schools Face to Face - 3 hour practical course
