Information Security Essentials

Event Description This Online Module is for all staff has been designed to provide you with an understanding of the main threats to information security and the practical things you can do to counter them.

With so much important information now held in digital form, information security has become an issue that no organisation can afford to ignore. And the scale of the threat really can't be overstated: in a recent survey, more than 90% of organisations said that they'd suffered some form of information security incident in the previous year!
Training Objectives The aim of this module is to provide you with the skills and knowledge you need to ensure everyone in our organisation knows how to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the information they work with. 
Learning Outcomes If you apply what you have learnt on this module you will be able to:

  • Identify the three core principles of information security: confidentiality, integrity and availability
  • Recognise the three main forms of threat to information security
  • Identify the practical things you can do to counter the threats and comply with our IT security policies
