Food Safety

Event Description This module is for all Domiciliary Care Workers, Personal Assistants, Health Care Assistants or Nursing Auxiliaries and looks at good food safety, infection prevention and control which must be part of everyday practice to ensure that the people being supported receive safe and effective care. Carers also need to be aware of ways to promote adequate nutrition and hydration to maintain the wellbeing of those being supported.
Training Objectives The aim of this module is to provide an understanding of the key elements of health and hygiene in the provision of personalised care as well as to encourage a balance between an individual's right to choose and the application of best practice 
Learning Outcomes If you apply what you have learnt on this course you will be able to:

  • Identify good practice with Food Safety and Hygiene
  • Identify good practice with Nutrition
