Fire Safety Awareness (Foster Carers/Shared Lives Carers)

This half day workshop is for Foster Carers and Shared Lives Carers only.

It explains the importance of fire safety assessments and strategies to minimise the risk of fires.
The aim of this half day workshop is for you to feel confident in making fire safety assessments within the home and applying strategies to minimise the risk of fire.
If you apply what you have learnt on this workshop you will be able to:

  • Explain the far reaching impact of fire on all agencies involved
  • Identify and apply through collaborative working, measures to prevent the risk of fire occuring
  • Comprehend the Home Risk Assessment Process undertaken by West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (WSF&RS)
  • Explore and appreciate the benefits of FACE (Fire Awareness and Community Education)
  • Apply good communication processes when children and young people are considered to be at risk
