Refresher - Preventing Radicalisation and Violent Extremism

Webinar

This one and a half hour webinar is for West Sussex County Council staff and partner agencies who have attended the Preventing Radicalisation and Violent Extremism course in the past and require an update to ensure that they have a current and relevant understanding of the Prevent Agenda and what it means to professionals within West Sussex.
The aim of this refresher webinar is to enable you to review, reinforce and upgrade your current knowledge and skills. This will ensure that you are best equipped to understand, identify and respond to early signs of individuals being radicalised into violent extremism by recognising current trends, theories and developments in policy and practice, locally and nationally.
If you apply what you have learnt on this workshop you will be able to:

  • Effectively access the Prevent referral process to gain support for people susceptible or vulnerable to extremism.
  • Recognise some localised key signs and symbols often associated with radicalisation into violent extremism
  • Identify risks with the online world and radicalisation.
  • You must have attended the Preventing Radicalisation and Violent Extremism course in the past to attend this refresher session. Please ensure that you read the pre-session workbook before attending this event.
