Event Description

This 1 hour multi agency workshop is an opportunity to discuss how CSA presents in young children, the role of the paediatrician and Children's Sexual Assault Referral Centre (CSARC), as well as an opportunity to discuss practice issues.

Training Objectives

The aim of this session is to provide you with an overview of Child Sexual Abuse, how it can present in children and young people and what to do if you suspect abuse is taking or has taken place. This session will support you in developing an understanding of the Children’s Sexual Assault Referral Centre (CSARC) and how it supports children and young people who have experienced sexual abuse.

Learning Outcomes

If you apply what you have learnt you will be able to:

Provide an overview of how CSA presents in young children.

Identify the physical signs of CSA.

Demonstrate an awareness of the overview of the CSARC medical assessment and paediatrician.
