Secure Base Workshop: Dimension 3 Acceptance

This two hour webinar is designed for foster carers and supervising social workers to understand and apply the Secure Base Attachment Model to fostering looked after children, and young people living in West Sussex.
The aim of this course is to;

  • Keep Secure Base live in our practice.
  • Provide peer support.
  • Share new ideas.
  • Promote joint work and the professional role of the Foster Carer.
  • Have meaningful conversations about the Fostering role.
  • If you apply what you have learnt in this course, you will be able to;

  • Understand the dimension covered each month, gain practical ideas about how to therapeutically care for looked after children and promote a Secure Base.
  • Feel confident in your successes having shared ideas with other foster carers/supervising social workers/child and family workers.
  • Reflect on different therapeutic approaches and how to apply them day-to-day.
  • We would advise all foster carers to complete the Introduction to Secure Base course (2.5 hours, dates on L&D gateway) but this is not currently a pre-requirement for attending the Secure Base workshops.
