Kitchen & Catering Supervisors Training in Social Care

This whole day course is for WSCC staff and will cover the principles of the importance of maintaining “due diligence” book work and keeping your Safer Food, Better Business packs up to date, along with healthy eating, portion sizes.

The event aims to provide you with the knowledge and understanding of; the importance of keeping food safety management, records as part of a legal requirement and adhering to the allergen regulation. And help you ensure you are meeting people’s special diet nutritional requirements, by offering choice and variety through a well-planned menu.

These topics are regarded by the Food Standards Agency as being important to understanding and maintaining good practice, when completing book work and planning menus to ensure safe food. The event will provide you with an in-depth knowledge on food safety management systems.
The aim of this course is to provide Cooks and Supervisors of catering staff in social care with the knowledge and skills to complete the legal and business required documentation.
You will gain a clear understanding of what is required of you in terms of recording information and ensuring staff deliver the service in line with these needs.
If you apply what you have learnt in this course you will be able to;

  • Expand your knowledge and skills to be able to record and document the information to keep customers safe in line with the industry standards and legal responsibilities.
  • Enhance your understanding of healthy eating, portions sizes and allergen information.
  • Become more confident in making decisions on hygiene and challenging the organisation to make changes in line with industry standards.
