This two day online webinar via Zoom is for Managers, Social Workers and Early Help Practitioners who are working with children and families. Foster Carers and other staff who are undertaking direct work with children and families are also welcome to participate.
The course seeks to support you in increasing your knowledge and the practical tools that you can apply so that you can improve your assessment of attachment in service users and support reparative actions. The webinar will provide you with an overview of attachment theory and the main focus will be on assessing relationships and attachment, using the Signs Of Safety approach and practical strategies in order to support parents and carers to strengthen their family relationships. |

The aim of this course is for you to further develop your knowledge of attachment, and be able to identify and assess attachment difficulties in children and families within the Signs of Safety model.
On completing the course you will have practical strategies/tools to assess and support carers/families. You will have an understanding of brain development in early years and trauma in adults and children and consider how this can inform and develop social work practice to create better, longer term outcomes for children and young people in West Sussex. |

Before attending this course you will need to read and familiarise yourself with the West Sussex Attachment and Developmental Trauma Strategy.
All staff attending should have a good understanding of our Signs of Safety Practice Framework. Foster Carers should have a good understanding of Secure Base before attending this training. To be able to participate in this webinar you must have the following: |
