Train the Trainers - Infection Prevention and Control

Workshop
This 1 day workshop will focus on supporting you the in-house trainer to deliver basic Infection Prevention and Control training within your organisation.

The workshop will provide the underpinning knowledge to meet Skills for Care, NICE Guidance, Public Health England and the Care Quality Commission minimum training requirements for Infection Prevention and Control.

Before attending the workshop you are required to:
  • Have subject competency and credibility within your own organisation to train staff
  • Have subject competency and credibility within your own organisation to train staff
  • Have substantial experience of training and/or be a qualified trainer (e.g. have undertaken a short training course as a minimum or hold a PTTLS or similar qualification)
  • Have the support of your manager to take part in any on-going training to support continual professional development
  • The aim of the workshop is to support in-house trainers to deliver Infection Prevention and Control training within their establishments. The sessions will enable you to identify material to be used in-house to deliver training that is specific to your client group, convenient to the organisation and to help embed team/organisational understanding of the subject matter.
    If you apply what you have learnt on this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Identify a variety of training materials within your subject area to meet different learning styles
  • Identify subject relevant policy and guidance to inform a training session
  • Demonstrate a sound knowledge of resources to support on-going learning
  • Plan a learning session to meet the identified objectives within the subject area
  • Analyse the effectiveness of different training resources within your work setting
