Sexual Health and Personal Relationships

This one day course is for Foster Carers and Social Workers.

It explores the development of the knowledge and skills required to support young people to make informed decisions about relationships and to assess risks to their health and wellbeing.
The aim of this event is to foster an appreciation of the issues involved and to increase confidence about responsibilities when offering advice and support and signposting to other services.
If you apply what you have learnt on this course you will be able to:

  • Demonstrate that you have considered your own values and attitudes relating to personal relationships and the sexual health of young people
  • Identify departmental policy and the areas of responsibility for carers and staff
  • Illustrate skills in working with children and young people regarding personal relationships and sexual health
  • Recognise a range of relevant resources and how to access them
