Fire Safety - Care

This three hour training course is for all those working in the care industry.

It will provide you with an understanding of fire, how it starts and spreads, and the most effective ways of extinguishing different types of fire. It will also support you to look at your role and responsibilities in the event of a fire.

As there is no 'on site' parking at any of the Fire Stations - please allow extra time to find a parking space.

This workshop can be part of an induction programme or as a refresher to previous learning.
The aim of this workshop is to provide you with an overview of how a fire starts, spreads and what are the most effective ways of extinguishing different types of fire.
If you apply what you have learnt on this workshop you will be able to:

  • Identify how a fire can start and spread.
  • Recognise common causes of fire.
  • Identify safety features within buildings.
  • Explain what your role and responsibilities are in the event of a fire occurring.
  • Identify requirements for fire prevention.
  • Identify which extinguisher is appropriate for different types of fire.
