Ladder Safety Training (The Work At Height Regulations 2005)

This half day course run by Caretaking and Premises Support is for all staff who are involved or could be involved with or who manage staff (Duty Holders) working at heights. As covered under the Working at Heights Regulations 2005.

Working at any height to carry out the most simple of tasks can be hazardous. This course assists in identifying hazards, choice of equipment and how to check and maintain equipment. It will also identify when, where and how the risks arise.

There will be a 20 question multiple choice assessment and practical inspection at the end of the course and you will be expected to score 75% or over to pass.

The aim of this course is to introduce you to the hazards of using ladders, stepladders and kick-stools etc., in the workplace and the precautions to be taken when using such equipment.
If you apply what you have learnt on this course you will be able to:

  • Demonstrate an awareness and understanding of:
  • 'The Work At Height Regulations 2005'
  • The correct choice of equipment
  • Carrying out inspections
  • Assessing and reducing risks of accidents occurring
  • Employing safe methods to erect and use equipment
  • The cost of this event is £10 for SLA subscribing schools and £200 for schools that do not subscribe, you will be invoiced for attending this event after attendance.
