Thresholds Workshop

Course
This half day workshop is available to anyone who works with children and families in any capacity. It will introduce you to Early Help/Think Family work and describe the use of the West Sussex Thresholds in identifying the best response to the needs of children and families.
The aim of this workshop is to outline the context, vision and model for the new ways of working with families to provide early help through a multi-agency Early Help/Think Family system. The course will use the new Thresholds Document, published in April 2016, to consider what factors contribute to safe decision making at level 3-4 and how we can work better together to support children and families as they step up and down between levels 3 & 4.
By the end of the session you will be able to:

  • Use the West Sussex Continuum of Needs thresholds document to determine appropriate thresholds against level of risk.
  • Describe MASH referral process and when it’s appropriate to refer.
  • Describe processes and support within Early Help and prevention
  • Explore what good looks like for a referral
  • Reflect on your own role and how you will apply what you have learned.
  • Whilst there are no pre-requisites to attending this workshop, it is recommended that you also attend the following training.
