Safeguarding Adults at Risk in a Shared Lives Setting

Workshop
This short interactive workshop is for all those supporting people in a Shared Lives setting.

It provides a basic awareness of the adult safeguarding principles in health and social care as identified in the skills for care common induction standards. It particularly looks at issues within the Shared Lives Model of care.

This course is Mandatory and must be updated every 3 years. Failure to update this may lead to a return to Panel for non-compliance with the Training Agreement.
The aim of this Workshop is for you to feel confident in spotting and responding to the signs of abuse in line with policy guidance.

You will explore your role and responsibilities as a Shared Lives Carer within the Safeguarding procedures. This includes reporting, recording and supporting the people who you care for during the process.
If you apply what you have learnt on this workshop you will be able to:

  • Recognise who is an 'adult at risk'
  • Identify the signs of harm and abuse
  • Identify the things that can contribute to abuse
  • Demonstrate your skills in keeping the people you support safe
  • Safeguarding
