101: Domestic Abuse Awareness Training (Cancelled)

This one day domestic abuse awareness course aimed at social workers, but is also relevant to anyone working with children, families and adults.
The aim of this course is to provide you with a thorough understanding of the prevalence, nature and effects of domestic abuse and to increase your confidence in identification, risk assessment and safety planning. You will learn about the barriers people may experience when accessing support and increase your knowledge on where additional support and information can be accessed in West Sussex.
If you apply what you have learnt in this course, you will be able to:

  • Better identify domestic abuse that may be occurring for adults or families that you are working with and the impact that this has on them (including children
  • Understand the complexities of domestic abuse and the barriers that people face experiencing it
  • Risk assess, using the nationally recognised tool (ACPO DASHH)
  • Safety Plan for individuals and families
  • Know where to access additional support and advice
