Introduction to the Health Needs of Looked After Children

Course
This one day course is a Level 1 event for foster carers, and residential children’s home staff.

It has been specifically developed to assist you in building an awareness of the typical health needs of Looked After children and young people in your care.
The aim of this course is to enable you to develop your knowledge and confidence in addressing the health issues that commonly affect Looked After children and young people in your care.
If you apply what you have learnt on this course you will be able to;

  • Have a basic knowledge of the health needs that affect Looked After children and young people.
  • Carry out your role in addressing the health needs of Looked After children and young people in your care.
  • To access further support, local services and additional training which will enhance your ability to care for Looked After children and young people.
