Autism - Intermediate 2

Course
This is a one day course for staff providing day to day support and care to people on the autistic spectrum.

You must complete the Introduction to Autism e-learning course and 'Autism - Intermediate 1' course before attending this course.
The aim of this course is to enable you to build on the knowledge and skills you gained on 'Autism - Intermediate 1' and to use this knowledge to identify practical strategies that you can use when supporting individuals with Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
If you apply what you have learnt on this course you will be able to:

  • Review and discuss key knowledge gained in the Autism - Intermediate 1 course
  • Identify effective and appropriate environmental modifications that should be considered when supporting individuals with Autistic Spectrum Disorder
  • Explore how to design and implement specific strategies to maximise learning
  • Demonstrate an awareness of how to create specific communication strategies - working with Speech and Language Therapists when appropriate
  • Explore national, local and legal policies related to Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Before attending this course you must have:

  • Completed the Introduction to Autism e-learning course and
  • Attended the Autism - Intermediate 1 course

  • Please Note: You will be asked to leave the session if you have not completed the Pre-Requisites.
