Safeguarding Adults Enquiries Training for Provider Services

This one day course is for staff that may be requested to carry out or contribute to an enquiry by the WSCC Lead Enquiry Officer. The course will look at legal duties and powers to carry out a Care Act section 42 Safeguarding Adults Enquiry.

We will explore the key aims for adults safeguarding and ‘Making Safeguarding Personal’ together with staff roles and responsibilities.

This practice based course will use case scenarios to support group discussion and draw on learning from Safeguarding Adults Reviews and research in the public domain to enhance learning and understanding of the subject matter.
The aim of the course is to support you to carry out or contribute to enquiries in line with the principles of ‘Making Safeguarding Personal’, supporting individuals to recognise and achieve their personal outcome where ever possible.
If you apply what you have learnt on this course, you will be able to:

  • Identify the role and responsibilities when carrying out or contributing to an enquiry.
  • Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns.
  • Define the objectives of a Care Act S.42 enquiry.
  • Apply the Care Act 2014 in line with 'Making Safeguarding Personal'.
  • You are required to have knowledge of basic safeguarding awareness and the key principles of the Mental Capacity Act before attending this course.
