Refreshing Basic Safeguarding Adults Knowledge (Cancelled)

Deadly Pandemic
Workshop
This half day workshop is for staff that have a good working knowledge of basic adult safeguarding and require the opportunity to refresh their practice through reflective, discussion-based learning with other professionals.

The intention of this workshop is to provide staff with the opportunity to reflect and develop their understanding of the issues relating to adult safeguarding. The thread of discussions will follow Standard 10 of the Care Certificate.

Please note the course pre-requisites

It is widely recognised that learning can take place in a range of different ways and means and, therefore, other useful safeguarding refresher learning is available on the Learning and Development Gateway:

  • Care Certificate Pathway
  • Safeguarding Adults - Basic Awareness Online Module.
  • The aim of this workshop is to enable you to reflect upon your practice in line with the principles of safeguarding adults and person-centred care in order to recognise potential signs of abuse and unsafe practices.
    If you apply what you have learnt on this workshop you will be able to;

  • Explain the principles of safeguarding adults.
  • Identify ways to reduce the likelihood of abuse.
  • Demonstrate how to respond to suspected or disclosed abuse.
  • Identify relevant policies and legislation which relate to safeguarding adults.
  • Participants must have a good knowledge of safeguarding adults policy and guidance following the Care Act 2014, and at least 2 years practice experience in care services.

    If you would like further information please contact the trainer or West Sussex Learning and Development.
